SCOTT RYAN President and CEO
Scott has over 15 years of experience in the networking and Internet industries, during which he has led organizations in networking and communications companies including Nortel Networks and DSC Communications, as well as startup ventures Incanta and Elastic Networks. His specific expertise is in startup business formation, business and marketing strategy, new product introduction, and product management.
Prior to Asankya, Scott was at The North Highland Company, a management and technology consulting company, where he led the Infrastructure and Security practice and was the national Communications Industry Lead. Scott was co-founder and CEO of Incanta, a pioneer in personalized streaming radio, and broadband application provider to telecommunications and cable companies. While at Incanta, he raised $20 million, $17 after the bubble burst, and established the company's first revenues.
Scott was hired into the Leadership Program at Nortel Networks, where he worked in increasing levels of responsibility, eventually starting and spinning out a DSL systems company, Elastic Networks (ELAS), leading to an IPO in 2000. Scott has spoken at many industry events, including Digital Hollywood, Broadband Home, Streaming Media West, and SCTE Broadband.
Scott holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Theatre from Vanderbilt University, and a M.B.A in Marketing and Information Systems from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt.
RAGHUPATHY SIVAKUMAR Founder and CTO
Raghupathy Sivakumar (Siva) serves as a fully-tenured Associate Professor at Georgia Tech, in addition to his role at Asankya as Founder and CTO. His primary research interests are in the areas of Network QoS, Mobile Computing and Wireless Networks. He has authored over 100 publications in related conferences, journals, and books. Prior to founding Asankya, he served as Senior Technologist at EG Technology, Inc., where he led the technical team on protocols for multimedia technologies.
Siva has won several awards for his research, including the ACM MobiCom Best Paper Award (2003), the IEEE ICNP Best Paper Award (2005), and the IEEE SECON Best Paper Award (2005). He was also recognized with the Outstanding Young Faculty Award at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2004.
Siva received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he won several research awards, including the David J. Kuck Awards for the Best Doctoral Dissertation, and Best Masters Thesis, respectively. He received his B.E. degree in Computer Science from Anna University, Chennai, India, where he won the University Gold Medal.
Siva has actively served in the research community by leading conferences through varied chairmanships. This includes positions such as General Co-chair of the IFIP Networking Conference 2007, and Technical Program Co-chair of the ACM MobiHoc Conference 2006, as well as the IEEE/CreateNet Broadnets 2006 Wireless Symposium. He also serves on the editorial boards of varied IEEE and ACM journals.

LAURENCE OLIVIER Partner, Veritas Venture Partners LLC
Laurie Olivier is a partner of Veritas Venture Partners, a veteran VC firm in Israel, and manages its Atlanta office. He serves on the boards of ClickFox Inc., CytoDome Inc., and Asankya. He is a member of various technology related industry forums - he currently serves as vice chairman of the American Israel Chamber of Commerce, and is on the board of the Atlanta Venture Forum.
Mr. Olivier has been involved in venture capital since 1990. As SVP Private Equity at Anglo American (AA), a leading global mining concern, he represented AA's interests in a number of venture funds. At AA, he pioneered the establishment of new technology-driven businesses, and served on the boards of a variety of publicly traded and privately held businesses, including some of its joint venture companies such as Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, Temasek of Singapore, and the Daewoo Group of South Korea. In South Africa he currently serves as a technology commercialization advisor to the major government controlled research organization and the University of Pretoria.
Mr. Olivier was born and raised in South Africa, and holds a B.Engineering (Electronics) from the University of Pretoria, and a B.Com (Hons) and Dip. Datametrics from the University of South Africa.
STEVE W. CHADDICK Managing Partner and Founder, Ridgewood Advisors, LLC.
Steve founded Ridgewood Advisors in 2004 as a vehicle for angel investing, nurturing the community of emerging technology companies in the Atlanta area.
He has served in many roles at CIENA Corporation, including Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, where he was responsible for overall corporate strategy and product direction. From CIENA's inception in 1994 until August 1998, he was responsible for all Research and Development, serving as Vice President, Product Development, and Senior Vice President, Products and Technologies. He has 30+ years of experience in the Telecom and related industries, having held varied positions at GTE Electronic Systems Group, Pacific Measurements, Avantek, and Scientific-Atlanta. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Optical Internetworking Forum and Terabit Technology, and currently serves on the boards of Vistascape Security Systems and Asankya.
He is an active volunteer in the Georgia Tech community, currently serving as a Trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation, among others, and responsible for multiple endowments. He co-founded Tridom in 1983, which was acquired by AT&T in 1988, when he served as Vice President of Engineering at AT&T Tridom.
Mr. Chaddick received both his B.S. (Highest Honor, 1974) and M.S. (1982) degrees in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and is a member of the Georgia Tech Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni.

STEPHEN FLEMING
Chief Commercialization Officer, Georgia Tech
Stephen Fleming has over 10 years of private equity experience at the General Partner level. Prior to his venture capital career, he spent 15 years in operations roles at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Nortel Networks, and LICOM (a venture-funded startup).
An Atlanta native and summa cum laude graduate of Georgia Tech, Mr. Fleming returned to his alma mater in mid-2005 as Chief Commercialization Officer. His appointment led a reorganization designed to streamline the handling of intellectual property, accelerate the licensing of technology, and make the Institute's resources more readily accessible to business and industry.
Mr. Fleming is also active in the "alternative space industry" and is an investor in two private spaceship companies. Mr. Fleming also serves on the Board of Trustees of Tech High School, a charter high school emphasizing science, math, and technology in urban Atlanta.
